Watrous Water Association, Inc. PWS # 2590029 has a water source that is susceptible to surface water.

BOIL YOUR WATER BEFORE USING

The. Watrous Water and its distribution system is susceptible to contamination by pathogenic protozoans like Giardia & Cryptosporidium, which represents an increased risk to public health.

What should I do?

-DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOLING IT! Bring water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for dinking. making dinner, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills 99% of bacteria and other organisms in the water.

Symptoms of water borne illness includes nausea, cramps, fevers, headaches. YET, these symptoms are not caused only by drinking water: if you experience any of these symptoms and they persist you may want to seek medical advice. People at increased risk should seek from their health care providers about drinking this water.

What is being done?

We are adding Chlorination to the reservoir in an effort to kill disease -causing organisms.

However, PLEASE BOIL ALL DRINKING WATER BEFORE USING! We will inform you when you no longer need to boil your water.
